Flooding : KNSG Committed To Improved Waste Management – Managing Director

Kano State Government has reassured commitment towards deploying all the necessary measures in curtailing the menace of flood during the rainy season.

The Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) , Alhaji Ahmad Haruna Zago disclosed this during a media briefing in Kano.

He said the current administration in Kano under was according much priority in the aspect of waste management to enhance the health status of the general populace.

Alhaji Ahmadu Haruna Zago said from his inception as the Managing Director of the Board to date, hundreds of tonnes of waste have been evacuated from different parts of the metropolitan local governments.

He charged the residents to desist from dumping refuse on waterways and roadsides, saying the board had embarked on massive enlightenment on the dangers of dumping refuse in undesignated areas.

Alhaji Ahmadu Haruna Zago noted that the board will evacuate all the refuse dumped by the roadsides in the metropolitan within the next seven days.

The Managing Director adviced the general public to support government efforts through proper disposal of waste , geared towards having a healthy society.
