House of Representatives has passed a resolution mandating the Federal Ministry of Aviation to make Provision for free High Blood Pressure and Sugar Level Checks at the Nigerian Airports.

The decision is sequel to a motion by member Mr Kalejaiye Adeboye Paul, adopted by members of the green Fochamber during plenary.

Mr. Kalejaiye Adeboye, who emphasized the importance of prioritizing the health of individuals passing through the Nigerian Airports said establishing Free High Blood Pressure and Sugar Levels Check Desks, would help travellers seek for medical intervention and prevent potential complications.

The lawmaker however, urged the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to put adequate medical facilities in the Nigerian Airports to forestall sudden death of passengers from the attack of high blood pressure and diabetes.

He further advised that if established, the desks should be staffed with trained healthcare personnel who can accurately provide basic counselling and measure blood pressure and sugar levels, and refer individuals to appropriate medical services.

Mover of the motion believed that providing these free medical desks will demonstrate the nation’s commitment to
the well-being of it’s citizens and visitors using the airports for thier daily activities.
