Kano State government (KNSG), has reiterated it’s commitment to reviving the lost glory and decaying infrastructure, of the local government council in the State.

This was contained in a statement, signed by the public relations officer, ministry for local governments and chieftancy affairs, Aminu Bello Sani, and made available to Radio Nigeria in Kano.

The statement explained that, the deputy governor, who doubles commissioner ministry for local governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, made the indication, during a meeting with the 44 local government council chairmen, in his office.

He described local governments as the closest authority to the people, saying that, it deserves to be given priority, due to it’s positive impact to the lives of the citizens.

The Commissioner, urged the local government Chairmen to do everything possible, by providing relief and basic services, to reduce the burden of high cost of living, among their teeming populace.

Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, directed the council chairmen to take care of mentally retarded persons roaming about naked, in their respective local government areas.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Yusuf Datti Hussain, commended governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for appointing an experienced and seasoned local government administrator, to manage the ministry.

Also, speaking the Chairman Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Alhaji Baffa Muhammad Takai, promised to work diligently, to meet the yearnings and aspiration of incumbent administration.
