Kano state government has declared state of emergency on phone snatching, through establishing mobile court to treat cases of phone snatching.
The Principal private secretary (PPS), to the state governor Dr. Faruk Kurawa, made the indication while unveiling the developed gubernatorial campaign tracker website in Kano.
He described darkness as a major catalyst to phone snatching, where perpetrators carry out their evil acts in nooks and crannies of the state, which prompted the new administration, to revive the street lights and other means of curtailing the menace.
Dr.Faruk Kurawa said the state government had put modalities in place, to ensure water scarcity becomes history and other meaningful projects that would touch the lives of Kano citizens.
“Am assuring you that we would revive our historic places through the ongoing demolition “he said.
Earlier in a remark the state partnership facilitator, Partnership to Engage Reform and Learn (PERL), Malam Isah Surajo noted that, the unveiling of the Kano tracker website, is a citizens initiative towards tracking and monitoring the implementation of 14 commitments, of the present administration.
In his presentation titled : Blueprint commitment and the citizens charter and agenda settings: Safiyanu Lawan Bichi of Kano budget working group, explained that, Kano charter of demands was initiated to eradicate the state, developmental challenges.
He maintained that, a group of concerned citizens came together, to strategize towards uplifting the state through evidence based campaign, awareness creation, encouraging stakeholders engagement, open governance partnership (OGP), among others.
Tahir Mohammad Saleh presented an overview of the gubernatorial campaign tracker, while Mubarak Daha presented the tracker, and the vote of thanks was delivered by the state coordinator CSACEFA, Dr. Auwal Halilu.
The event tagged: A session with broader citizens group to unveil the developed gubernatorial campaign tracker website: supported by PERL (ECP), was attended by representatives from, OGP, KCSF, ARC, LISDEL, FCDO, ICPC, traditional rulers, journalists and the public.
