Speaker Abbas Visits Mrs Tinubu, Appreciates Her Support

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Abbas Tajuddeen, has assured that the 10th House of Representatives will work for the desires of all Nigerians.

He made this known when he led a delegation of members alongside his Deputy Mr Benjamin Kalu, on a thank-you visit to the First Lady Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, for the support given to them to emerge presiding officers of the 10th Assembly.

Dr Abbas Tajuddeen in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Malam Musa Abdullahi Krishi, explains that the overwhelming mandate given to him by his colleagues will spur him to work assiduously with every member to make laws that have the interest of the masses.

The Speaker who assured the 10th House full support to the led Bola Ahmad Tinubu’s administration, said the role played by the First Lady during thier elections cannot be taken for granted,

He observed that the current administration would have a smooth sail as the President, Vice President, First Lady, Chief of Staff to the President, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation were all members of the National Assembly.

Today is a very historic day. We have come to thank you for your support. We were here before to seek your support and prayers. Here we are today; we have won. It was through your collective efforts—Mr. President, yourself, governors, and all the other stakeholders”.

The Speaker however, assured that the leadership of the Assembly under him would collaborate and partner, particularly in one area requested by the first Lady during their campaign visit which was to carry the women along by ensuring that the gender-based bills were reconsidered and passed by the 10th.

In a remark, the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, congratulated the Speaker and his deputy on their victory, saying with the caliber of leadership and membership of the 10th Assembly, Nigeria would be great again.

Sen. Oluremi, also confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was out to build and unite the old path that future generations would take calling on other political parties to join hands and work for the growth and development of Nigeria.

Also speaking, the chairman the Joint Task – 10th Assembly, Alh Usman Bello Kumo, whose forum ran the Abbas-Kalu Campaign, said as responsible and respectful individuals, they deemed it fit to visit and thank the First Lady for her role in the emergence of the two Presiding Officers.
