Falgore Sworn-In As Speaker Kano Assembly

The member representing Rogo constituency, Ismai’l Jibrin Falgore of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has emerged Speaker of the 10th Kano State House of Assembly.

The new speaker was nominated by member representing Dala Constituency, Lawal Hussaini, seconded by Musa Ali Kachako, representing Takai.

Meanwhile, member representing Rimin Gado/ Dawakin Tofa constituency, Muhammad Bello Butu Butu clinched the deputy speakers seat, where the acting clerk Alhaji Ali Maje, swore in the speaker and his deputy.

Other principal officers include, Lawan Hussaini (Dala), as majority leader, deputy majority leader Garba Shehu Fammar (Kibiya), Mudassir Ibrahim (kumbotso) chief whip, minority leader Labaran Abdul Madari (warawa), and Ayuba Labaran Durum representing Kabo constituency as minority whip.

In his acceptance speech, the speaker Alhaji Isma’il Jibrin Falgore, reiterated his commitment in working according to the constitution.

He pointed out that, kano state house of assembly (KNHA), would work assiduously by mapping out laws aimed at, promoting good governance and accountablity.

The speaker, charged lawmakers and people of kano state, to contribute their quota by supporting the state government, to achieve the desired objectives.

Lawmakers representing Minjibir and Kabo who spoke to Radio Nigeria, Abdulmajid Abdul and Usman Abubakar Tasi’u, stressed that, they would focus more attention on laws, that would touch the lives of their constituents.

Radio Nigeria reports that, out of the 40 lawmakers elected across 44 local governments in Kano state, 26 are from the New Nigerian people’s party (NNPP),while 14 represent the All progressive congress (APC).
