Kaduna State Government says the first session of the 10th Kaduna State House of Assembly will hold tomorrow, the 13th of June, 2023 in the Parliament building, Lugard Hall.

A Statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mohammed Lawal Shehu says this is coming after the dissolution of the 9th Assembly on Thursday the 8th of June, 2023 by the Governor of Kaduna State.

The statement said the historic event would mark a new chapter in the legislative history of Kaduna State, which demonstrates commitment to uphold democratic principles and ensure good governance.

According to the statement, the development follows the issuance of the proclamation instrument by the Governor Uba Sani, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by Subsection (3) of Section 105 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

It says the proclamation signifies the commencement of a new legislative session and sets forth an agenda for addressing pressing issues facing the people of Kaduna State.

The statement explains that, the first session will witness the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected members and subsequent election of principal officers such as Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

Governor Uba Sani is expected to deliver an address at the occasion, outlining his administration’s priorities for the new legislative term.

The first session of the 10th Assembly is an opportunity for all stakeholders to come together and work towards a brighter future for the people of Kaduna State.
