
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC says despite some glitches here and there in the conduct of this years general elections they were not enough to undermine the credibility of the elections.
INEC National Commissioner in charge of Niger Kogi and Kwara state Mohammed Sani Adams SAN said this after presenting Certificates of Return to Niger state Governor/Deputy elect and State House of Assembly Members elect in Minna.
Mohammed Sani SAN maintained that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has conducted the best election ever in the history of Nigeria.
In his acceptance speech after receiving his certificate of return Niger state Governor elect Alh Umar Mohammed Bago said he will pursue with vigour his five points agenda in an effort to take Niger state to greater heights.
Alh Umar Mohammed Bago enumerated his five points agenda to include Security Education Agriculture Commerce and Tourism stressing that all hands must be on deck to ensure its success for the good of Nigerlites.
The Niger state Governor elect who called for constructive criticism to move forward also said women and youth will be accorded priority in his administration in view of their immense contribution to his over all success.
In his remarks INEC Administrative Secretary Alh Muhammad Yakubu Duku thanked his staff traditional rulers security agencies the media and civil society organisation for their support to the conduct of succesful elections in Niger state.
Vice President elect Kashim Shattima and Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello who came briefly after the presentation of certificate of return also visited former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar and the Emir of Minna Alh Umar Faruk Bahago seperately.
