Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Kano Office has on Wednesday issued a Certificate of Return to the Kano Governor-Elect Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf of NNPP at its headquarters in Kano.
The certificate was issued to the Governor-Elect by INEC Zonal Commissioner in charge of Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa States, Professor Abdullahi Zuru.
Speaking shortly after receiving the certificate, Kano Governor Elect Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf appreciated the people for giving him their mandate to govern.
He reassured commitment to ensuring that the people of the state enjoyed the dividend of democracy throughout his tenure.
Abba Kabir Yusuf pledged to revive the Educational system right from primary education up to the tertiary level, “We assure you that our Administration will not relent in reviving health care service delivery, Agriculture among other sectors.” and Commended the INEC for conducting free and fair elections in the state.
Radio Nigeria Recalled that Abba Kabir Yusuf of the NNPP was declared winner of the March 18th, 2023 governorship election after defeating his closest rival and candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna with 1,019,602 to defeat Gawuna who polled 890,705.
Meanwhile, the Kano Resident Electoral Commissioner Ambassador Abdu Zango also presented certificates of return to 16 House of Assembly Members elect.
