INEC Declares APC’s Bago Niger Governor-Elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared the All Progressives Congress APC Gubernatorial Candidate ALH Umar Mohammed Bago as the winner of the Governatorial election conducted last Saturday.

Announcing the result State Collation Officer and Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics University of Abuja Professor Clement Allawa said Alh Umar Mohammed Bago polled four hundred and sixty nine thousand eight hundred and ninety six votes to defeat his closest rival of the PDP.

According to him Alh Isa Liman Kantigi of the People’s Democratic Party PDP scored three hundred and eighty seven thousand four hundred and seventy six votes in a keenly contested election.

Prof Clement Allawa said APGA scored one thousand seven hundred and forty six votes, NNPP scored three thousand three hundred and senty eight votes while Labour Party polled three thousand four hundred and fifteen votes.

Agents of all the political parties have signed the election results except that of PDP who disappeared before the final announcement.

When contacted Chairman of PDP in the state Barrister Tanko Beji said said they have directed their party agents to forward to them all the results they have obtained to enable them cross check their facts and take necessary action.
