Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa winner of the just concluded Saturday’s Governorship election.

Returning officer for the election Professor Ishaya Tanko announced the result at the INEC headquarers in lafia, the State Capital.

The returning officer who is Vice Chancellor of University of Jos said Governor Abdullahi Sule of APC scored the highest votes casted of three hundred and forty seven thousand twenty nine to defeat the main opposition Party PDP.

Professor Ishaya Tanko said, The Governorship Candidate of PDP Mr. Emmanuel Umbugadu came second with total votes of two hundred and eighty three thousand sixteen, while the Candidates of NNPP Abdullahi Yakubu Mai-Doya came third with eleven thousand seven hundred twenty six votes

The returning officer for Governorship election in the State also commended all the agents of the Political Parties for the maturity and patient exhibited during the process.

Fourteen Political Parties participated in Governorship election in Nasarawa State which returned the incubent Governor Abdullahi Sule as the winner of the poll.
