Kano Police Command Apprehends 165 On Election Related Offence

Kano State Police Command,has arrested 165 People for allegedly engaging in various Political Crimes, during the match 18th Governorship and State House of Assembly election.

Speaking while Parading the suspects , DIG in charge of election in Kano, Hafiz Muhammad Inuwa, said some were arrested trying to set ablaze the Office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and a Police Station in Kano.

He explained that, some are accused of alleged ballot box snatching, disruption of elections, engaging in violence, wielding dangerous Weapons and engaging in Drugs related Crimes.

Hafiz Muhammad warns that the Police would not tolerate break down of Law and Order, saying that, the suspects will be investigated and prosecuted accordingly.

Also speaking, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Usaini Gumel, urged the Public to Cooperate with the Police in ensuring that they do not engage in wild celebrations that might lead to a breach of Law, reminding that Police have banned wild celebrations in the State.
