Election observer group Truly and Fully Arewa Movement of Nigeria, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) to cancel the just concluded Lagos West Senatorial Zone elections .

The group made the demand during a press conference held in Kaduna through its spokesperson, Prince Elijah Francis.

According to him, the election was marred with alot of irregularities as there was late arrival of election materials, destruction and malfunctioning of BVAS machines as well as disruption of the election process by hoodlums, among others.

He explained that, there were 7,000 polling units across the ten local government areas of the Senatorial district and urged INEC to declare the process void and announced new date for fresh poll.

“It’s sad to note that the election was disrupted by a lot of Irregularities ranging from late arrival of materials, destruction and malfunctioning of BVAS machines, disruption of the entire process by hoodlums, insufficient security personnel in major polling units, non transmission of results in the polling units, among other challenges.”

However, the group also called on both local and international observers to draw the attention of INEC with immediate effect for them to do the right thing to enhance democratic development in Nigeria.
