The Public have been advised to Shun thuggery and Inciting Comments before, during and after elections,to enjoy dividends of Democracy.

Head of Department, Public Administration, Bayero University Kano Dr. Sa’idu Ahmed Dukawa made the call in Kano.

According to him, Political thuggery is an aspect of Social Violence which is devastating in Nigerian Democracy.

Dr.Sa’idu Ahmed Maintained that the Menace has become Detrimental to Democratic Sustainability in Nigerian Politics in which thugs move mostly in groups victimising, terrorising, intimidating, and injuring innocent individuals and Politicians.

The Political Scientist noted that, both Islam and Christianity Prohibits Violence, as it may lead to clash between Parties, by deterring individuals to be active in Political Processes, Socio-economic activities, at their Home, Shops and in the Society.

Dr. Sa’idu stressed that, Nigeria as a Country must begin to actively engage Youth at the Mainstream governance, to bring lasting Solution to Problems bedevilling the country.

He described Youth engagement at all levels as a Major Catalyst to Peace Building, Community Development, and Economic Growth.

The Head of Department hinted that, it is Economically,Socially,Culturally and Politically Dangerous to alienate these Vast resources, as it may affect the Overall Development of the Country.

Dr. Sa’idu emphasized that, Nigerian youth must Present themselves as a force to reckon with, in the 2023 election by their Political activism, by electing Candidates with People-driven representation and uncompromised Prospects for good governance.
