Barely less than a week to the governorship and state house of assembly elections across the country,  the All Progressive Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party in Sokoto state are accusing each other of plotting to use unconventional securities and thugs to shortchange the effort of INEC in delivering free and fair elections at the state level

In a news gathering, the APC Party chairman Alh. Isa Sadik Achida accused the PDP in the state of conniving with security agencies during the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly election in the deployment of armed men to the polling units .

The party, however, called on INEC to investigate the actions of some of its ad-hoc and permanent staff which according to him connived with the PDP for the failure of the party in the last presidential election .

Achida also called on the security agencies to investigate incidences of deliberate destruction of ballot boxes and find out who destroyed the boxes and their sponsors.

In his reaction at a news briefing, the PDP party chairman, Muhammad Aliyu Goronyo also accused the APC party in the state of creating chaos that let to the cancellation of more than four hundred polling units across the state during the presidential election.

The party chairman also alleged that the APC Party introduced thuggery and killings into the political arena of the state thereby scaring away peace loving and innocent people from casting their votes .
