NGO Urges INEC to Address Challenges Faced During Presidential Elections

The International Organization for Peace Building and Social Justice has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to address the challenges faced during the Presidential and National Assembly elections inorder to conduct a better election scheduled for 11th of March.

Executive Director of the Organization Ishaya Inuwa-Durkwa, who stated this while briefing Journalist in Jos the Plateau Capital, said many people could not vote, in parts of the State due to malfunction of the machines.

He charged leaders of the Country to join hands in the call for a peaceful Nigeria where everyone will feel a sense of belonging without been disenfranchised but allowed to enjoy freedom of peace and Justice devoid of falsehood.

Inuwa – Durkuwa however called on INEC to be an unbiased umpire and appealed on those that will loose the election to seek redress with the appropriate authority instead of taking the laws into their hands as the Country is presently in the eye of the world.

He said in the past twenty years, over twenty seven thousand people have been killed in the country over different clashes, a situation he said does not speak well of the Country.
