Police Apprehend Suspects With N17m Fake Currency

The Kebbi State Police Command, has arrested three suspects Faruku Zubairu, Ibrahim Musa and Salisu Mohammed of Gungun Tawaye and Chupamini villages in Ngaski Local Government of the state in posession of 17 Million Naira Counterfeit currency.

Briefing newsmen, the State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, said that, Police personnel attached to Warrah Police Station with the help of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) at Warrah Motor Park, arrested the 3 persons.

The Commissioner of Police stated that, after Investigation has been completed, the suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.

Similar CP Kontagora, said one Yusuf Omotayo Abdulfatai of old mechanic village, Birnin Kebbi, was apprehended and handed over to the Police at SCID, Birnin Kebbi, by the staff of Ministry of Health, Kebbi State, in possession of certificates reasonably suspected to be forged documents and was parading himself to be a Medical Doctor working with a private Hospital

He said In the course of investigation, many suspected items including forged and fraudulent documents were recovered and the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime and would be arraigned in court for prosecution according to the law.
