Kebbi state government, Nigeria National Petroleum Company Ltd. and the 3D Investment are to jointly construct a biofuel refinery using cassava in Gwazawa village of Danko Wasagu local government area of the state.

Briefing Newsmen on the development, the state Deputy Governor, Rtd. Col. Samaila Yombe Dabai, explained that the project proposed in the last five years is coming to reality soon.

According to him, the project is an equity contribution with 5 percent for Kebbi state government, NNPC 25 percent and 3D Investment with 70 percent.

Col. Yombe Dabai, said the contractor would be mobilized to site by next week for the commencement of the project.

Dabai, disclosed that, the project when completed would employ over five thousand workers.

He said, Gwandu, Argungu, Maiyama and Gwazawa are the primary source of the products to feed the company.

The Project Coordinator for the Cassava production, Professor Abubakar Kaoje, reiterated that, the project can accommodate five thousand workers as well as provide corporate social responsibility that include schools, hospitals and portable water to the affected communities.
