The Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has intercepted a 24 year old girl, Bunmi Babatunde while she was being trafficked to Libya.

Addressing journalists in Birnin Kebbi, State Comptroller of NIS, Rabi Bashir, said the girl was arrested by personnel of the NIS in Yauri while on patrol as she made to meet with a yet to be identified lady that was arranging her journey to Libya from sokoto.

While handing over the girl to NAPTIP Head of operations in Kebbi, Sadiq Atiku, the Comptroller said, from various items discovered from the girls lauguage, shows that, she had made enough provisions for the long journey to Libya.

According to the Comptroller, the Libya bound girl also hide her identify as she earlier told immigration officials that, her name was Temitope but upon investigation she confessed that her real name is Bunmi Babatunde.

Answering questions from journalists, the girl admitted she left Ibadan to meet a lady that was expected to arrange her journey to Libya from sokoto.

The Comptroller said, the situation is worrisome, despite the efforts of the NIS, girls keep moving out of the country to Libya without thinking about the dangers that awaits them.
