The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Yushau Ahmed says deliberate efforts are being made to ensure adequate protection of Corps Members, especially those involved in the general election.

General Ahmed also advised Corps Members to maintain “high level of discipline” and avoid social vices, especially drug abuse.

He gave the indications while interacting with the 2023 Batch ‘A’ Stream one Corps Members when he visited the NYSC FCT Permanent Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Abuja.

General Ahmed said that since he assumed duties, he has been meeting with heads of security agencies and the INEC management to ensure that a conducive platform was provided for corps members on election duties.

The NYSC FCT Coordinator, Alhaji Suleman Abdul said 2,293 corps members were registered while nursing mothers and those with health challenges were allowed to leave the camp.

Alhaji Abdul pointed out that after their swearing-in, the corps members have maintained a “high level of discipline”, describing them as “worthy ambassadors” of the scheme.
