FG, Private Firm to Construct 132km Kano-Kongolam Road

A Private firm has flagged off the Expansion and Dualisation of 132km Kano-Kazaure-Kongolam highway in Collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing.

The N116 Billion Project was flagged off by the Minister for Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, in Kazaure, Jigawa State.

The Minister said the Project was in line with the Presidential Executive Order 007 on Road Infrastructure Development and Refurbishment Investment Tax Credit Scheme, which granted tax Waiver to some Indigenous Conglomerates to carry out repair of Major Federal Highways.

He explained that the Project will Commence from Dawanau round-about in Kano to Dambatta, to Kazaure, to Daura to Kongolam in Katsina State.

Mr.Babatunde Fashola disclosed that the Private Firm will be the sole Financier of the Project as Part of its commitment to the Federal Government’s Infrastructure Development Efforts.

In a remark,Minister of Water Resources, Alhaji Suleiman Adamu Maintained that the Project when Completed will greatly Contribute to Economic Growth by Promoting local and International Trade.

He urged the Private Firm to ensure the Highest Quality in the Execution of the Project while noting that the Federal Government will continue to support Initiatives and Partnerships that will assist the Economy.

In his Speech, Representative of the Private Firm, Alhaji Kabiru Rabiu noted that the Company Remains Committed to Partnering with the Government on Critical Projects and Initiatives that will fast-track Human, Social, and Infrastructural Development across the country.

He added that the Company has the Capacity and Expertise to Deliver Good Road Project and has already Mobilised Equipment to the Site Preparatory for Commencement of the project.

Alhaji Kabiru Rabi’u also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the Project and affirmed his Organization’s Commitment to Delivering a Dual Carriage road that will rank among the best in Africa.
