Governor Badaru Abubukar of Jigawa State has presented a letter of appointment to Alhaji Hameem Nuhu  Sanusi as the 22nd Emir of Dutse. 

Badaru Abubakar explained that, the new Emir was chosen after careful consideration of the names recommended by the kingmakers of the emirate council.

He therefore urged the emir to discharge his duties in the best interest and unite people for the progress of the emirate and the state in general.

The letter was presented to the Emir by the Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini on behalf of the State Governor at Emir’s palace in Garu, Dutse.

His Excellency Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubukar has congratulated HRH Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi on the appointment and wishes him a successful and peaceful reign as Emir of Dutse”, Abdulkadir Fanini said.

In an acceptance speech, the new Emir Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi expressed gratitude to Governor Badaru for finding him worthy of the position and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.

He also promised to operate an open door policy in the emirate while calling for the support and cooperation of everyone in Dutse emirate.

Radio Nigeria reports that Alhaji Hameem succeeded his late father Dr  Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi who died on Tuesday, 31st January, 2023 after reigning for 28 years. 

Until his appointment as Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi held the title of Dan’iyan Dutse.
