Taraba State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has established an emergency response clinic for victims of road accidents in the state.
Sector Commander of the Corp, Corps Commander Celina William made this known in an interview with newsmen in Jalingo.
Celina William said that the clinic, which was located in the command’s headquarters in the state capital was to serve as a medical emergency response to accident victims especially those whose condition would require such.
She said the project had received the blessings of the Chief Corp Marshal (CCM) Hassan Biu who graciously supported the clinic with an ambulance and assorted medical equipment to the clinic.
Celine William revealed that the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Jalingo had accepted to deploy a physician and other medical workers to the clinic.
The sector commander explained that the feat was achieved due to the robust collaboration between the FRSC and the FMC which she had yielded a positive result, and applauded the CMD, Dr. Aisha Adamu for her support.
She further announced that her tenure had seen the growth of the command in the state, adding that the befitting new office complex was constructed under her watch.
William also announced that the Chief Corp Marshal has graciously approved a new FRSC Unit Command (UC) in Takum.
She said that the CCM has provided the unit command with a new Innoson Hilux and other logistics for the take-off of operations in Takum LGA of the state.
The Sector Commander explained that the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) had also provided a befitting house that would serve as office accommodation for the corps.
She stated that the command had already deployed some of its personnel to commence operations in the new unit command.
Celine William noted that the Takum Unit command would cover its operations from Takum to Ashuku in Kurmi local government, as well as Marraraban Baisa in the Donga local government area of the state.
The Sector Commander maintained that plans were on the way to establish another unit command in Zing LGA, which would operate from Zing down to Mayo Belwa in Adamawa State.
She advised motorists to adhere to driving rules such as observation of speed limits, using a seat belt, and avoidance of wrong overtaking, and overloading among others.
According to her, these rules, if observed, will reduce accidents on the highway to the barest minimum.
CC Celina William who described the relationship between the FRSC and other sister security agencies as cordial, urged them to maintain the tempo.
She, however, thanked the state Governor, Darius Ishaku for his support of the command, and appealed to him to provide more funds to support the command’s operations.
