The public has been advised to handle fire with care and switch off electric appliances when not in use to avoid inferno.

DR SALEH ALIYU JILI

The Executive Secretary, Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Saleh Aliyu Jili, says in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Agency, Malam Ahmed Isah to Radio Nigeria in Kano.

The statement, explains that, as harmattan season is fast approaching, there is an urgent need to enlighten the public, about the dangers of indiscriminate use of cooking gas and firewood, bush burning among others.

Dr. Saleh Jili appealed to parents and guardians, to desist from engaging underage children in hazardous errands, cooking, and handling fire and electric appliances, such as ring boilers and electric kettles to avoid disasters.

He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the protection of lives and properties of it’s citizens.
