Over five hundred persons from Katsina South Senatorial Zone have received farming inputs and other empowerment items from the Senator representing the zone, Alhaji Bello Mandiya.
The items distributed include 3,500 bags of assorted fertilizer, 750 water pumps, 350 grinding machines, 202 deep freezers, 200 motorcycles, 138 Keke Napeps, an ambulance for General Hospital Malumfashi and a school bus for GGSS Kafur.
While distributing the items at the event which was held in Kafur Local Government Area, Governor Aminu Bello Masari said the gesture was in line with the All Progressives Congress, APC’s, determination to empower citizens and make them self-reliant.
He urged other lawmakers to emulate the gesture which will go a long way in assisting their constituents to become self-reliant.
Masari noted that though Senator Bello Mandiya is not seeking re-election in 2023, the gesture will assist the party’s candidates vying for various elective positions in the forthcoming elections.
“This gesture will assist the beneficiaries, particularly farmers in these agrarian communities, and it will assist the APC at this critical moment when we need to win the hearts of the electorate ahead of the elections”, Masari said.
In his remarks, the Senator representing the zone, Alhaji Bello Mandiya urged people of the constituency to vote APC candidates in all elective positions in the forthcoming general elections to enable the party consolidate the achievements recorded from 2015 to date.
He said the farming inputs and other empowerment kits will assist the beneficiaries to be more productive which will assist the local and national economy.
