Tinubu Vows To Complete Lagos-Kano Rail If Elected

Kano APC presidential rally witnessed large turn out of supporters, who graced the occasion to show solidarity.

APC supporters in Kano, were seen in large numbers wearing caps and t-shirt and holding banners and placards with pictures of the presidential candidate, his running mate, and other candidates.

People lined up the streets as early as 10am to show solidarity to Alhaji Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, who spent hours from Kano government house to Kofar mata indoor stadium,venue of the rally.

Speaking at the occasion, the APC presidential candidate, Alhaji Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu promised to hasten the Kano – Lagos rail line, for easy movement of goods and services, and ensure the improvement of Kano-Maiduguri and Kano-Kaduna-Abuja roads.

He described the unprecedented crowd as overwhelming, as the stadium was filled to capacity.

He listed some of President Buhari’s achievements in his eight years, to include the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme particularly in rice production, the Lagos-Ibadan highway, and the Second Niger Bridge which has just been opened among many other infrastructure projects.

The presidential candidate noted that, he would rework the public finance system to unlock the avenues for more revenues, for the country just like he did in Lagos as governor.

Speaking specifically about Kano, Tinubu promised to consolidate the gains recorded in the agriculture sector.

“For this important Kano city, we shall work with the state government to make it a first class economic mega city. Also, the famous dams such Tiga, Chalawa Gorge, Thomas, Kusalla, will get special attention”

Earlier in his remarks, Kano state governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje while welcoming the people thanked them for turning out in large numbers, saying their support for Asíwájú Tinubu is not misplaced because “he has been tested and found worthy and can be trusted to deliver for the country.”

Others who spoke during the rally include, APC National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Vice Presidential Candidate Senator Kashim Shettima, and Chairman, Progressives Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kebbi, Senator Atiku Bagudu, Director- General of the Tinubu- Shettima Campaign and Plateau State Governor, Mr. Simon Lalong.

Also in attendance were the governors of Kaduna, Jigawa, Yobe, Niger, Katsina and Borno as well as Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Senators and ouse of representative members from Kano state.
