Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Umana Umana has urged the new Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC to implement the recommendations of the forensic audit report of the commission.

The Minister made the call while inaugurating the board on Wednesday in Abuja.

Mr. Umana also directed the Board to look into the numerous petitions alleging irregularities in employment in the commission.

Responding, the Chairman of the NDDC Board, Ms. Lauretta Onochie promised to prioritize women and youth empowerment.

According to her, the new Board will apply a new approach to ensure even development of the oil-rich region.
