Kano Hisbah Apprehends 19 For Same Sex Marriage

Kano State Hisbah Board has apprehended nineteen youths, at a popular event center for engaging in same sex marriage.

Reports indicate that, the youths in their early twenties were gathered to witness the wedding of two suspected homosexuals Abba and Mujahid.

Meanwhile,as luck was not on their side,hisbah personnel attached to hisbah board headquarters Sharada Kano, arrived at the scene before the commencement of the wedding rites ,where 15 females and 4 males were arrested.

Confirming the incident, Commander General Kano state hisbah board, Sheikh Dr Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina explained that, the arrest was made after a report from a good samaritan about the same sex marriage.

He stressed that, the duo tagged as bride and groom, Abba and Mujahid have escaped immediately after the arrival of hisbah personnel at the wedding venue.

Sheikh Ibn Sina noted that, the organizer of the event, 21 year old Salma Usman is in hisbah custody, saying that the board would intensify efforts to ensure that Abba and Mujahid were apprehended.

The commander general maintained that, Kano state hisbah board would hand over those in their custody to the police for necessary action,as most of the ladies claimed to have been invited for the wedding from a neighbouring state.

He reiterated the agency’s commitment in eradicating all forms of vices in the state.

Some of those arrested who spoke to radio Nigeria, Salma Usman, Sadiya, Aisha Adam, Maryam Ibrahim and Bilkisu Lukman claimed to have been invited for a birthday party.

They pleaded for leniency and promised not to engage in such acts in future.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the Kano State Hisbah board, was established by the state government in 2003, and saddled with responsibilities of enhancing public norms and forbidding wrong vices among Muslims.
