Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has presented a dummy cheque of N1,035,000 to nine female farmers as profits of their sold produce from Farm Kwara initiative.

The State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq said his administration would continue to provide conducive environment for agriculture and agribusiness to boost the economy of the state.

The Governor said the project could not have been successful if government did not create right environment for participation of the private sector.

Represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Abdullatee Alakawa, Mr Abdulrasaq appreciated the traditional leaders and communities for their support which he attributed to the success recorded.

Chairperson for Farm Kwara, Mrs Ayobola Thomson said at 120 farmers enjoyed varying supports of the administration to produce maize, beans and cassava in the pilot scheme across Ahun, Adanla in Ifelodun LG, Oke-Iya Ipo and Ijara-Isin in Isin LG.

She maintained that the government has been working round the clock to scale up the beneficiaries of the farm project to 400 ahead of the next farming season.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with Radio Nigeria, commended the initiative, as they said they were now better than before commencement of the Programme.
