NAPTIP Solicits Enhanced Public Collaboration Against Trafficking – DG

Participants at the training and coordination meeting of Kwara State NAPTIP Task Force , organised by the agency in collaboration with IOM in Ilorin-by-ALI MUHAMMAD RABIU

The Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons(NAPTIP) Dr. Fatima Waziri Azi has called on Nigerians to redouble their efforts in the fight against human trafficking in the country.

She made the call while speaking at a training and coordination meeting for members of Kwara state Task Force organized by the agency in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ilorin.

Represented by Director Research and Programme Development of the agency, Mr. Olubiyi Olusayo ,the Director General said all hands must be on deck to reduce the menace of human trafficking to the minimum.

Dr. Fatima Waziri -Azi urged all task force members to take their duties more seriously to enable the agency succeed in its mandate.

In her address the Project Manager , International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mrs Nguvulu Bertha represented by the Project Assistant , Mrs Adeniya Tolu said the organization will ensure adequate support to the task force to enable it succeed.

In his remark on the occasion, Kwara state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Senior Ibrahim Sulyman represented by the Head of Unit Gender Based Violence Matters at the ministry, Barrister Funke Balogun said the state government will facilitate the formulation of policy that will ensure total reduction of activities of traffickers in the state and the country in general.

She appealed to the participants to use the training acquired to reduce the activities of illegal immigrants.

Earlier in his address the Commander NAPTIP ,Kwara state Command ,Saadu Mustapha commended the participants for assisting the agency to achieve its mandate.

He urged them to continue to educate the people at the grass root on the purpose of the establishment of the agency to ensure success.
