The United Nations in collaboration with the Federal Government has signed a five year sustainable Development Framework to assist Nigeria to achieve developmental objectives.

UN Resident Coordinator, Matthias Schmale signed on behalf of the United Nations while the Minister of State Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba signed on behalf of the Federal Government in Abuja.

Mr Matthias Schmale who commended the steps taken by the Nigerian government to ensure sustainable plans in the country said the UN will continue to support Nigeria to achieve demographic dividends.

The Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba while thanking the UN for its support said Nigeria has taken every necessary step to attain demographic dividends.

Prince Agba called on the sub national government to do more in the area of basic education and primary healthcare.

Highlight of the event was the inauguration of a steering committee for the five year strategic plan.
