Nigerians have been urged to ensure adequate protection of public infrastructures and support the police in the maintainance of law and order in their various communities.

Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba made the call during the office Inauguration of a Model Police Station in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital .

He said the new model police station was built to serve humanity and provide security in a conducive environment.

Usman Alkali Baba advised Nigerians to volunteer information to the police to enhy better security .

In his remark , Kwara state governor ,AbdulRahman AbdulRazq commended the police and other security agencies for safety and security in the state.

Governor AbdulRazq assured that the state government will reciprocate the gesture by providing conducive environment for their operations.

Earlier in his address of welcome, Commisssioner of Police Kwara state Command ,Mr Paul Odama said the construction of the model police station will enable the police discharge their duties at ease.

Mr Odama assured of the determination of the command to provide adequate security in the nook and cranny of the state.
