Kaduna State Government has reiterated its determination to continue providing quality education to children in the state.
Governor Mal. Nasiru El-rufa’i stated this at the first Speech and prize giving day and graduation ceremony of students of Iya Alu Memorial school Zaria.
Mal. Nasiru El-rufa’i, represented by the Commissioner of Education , Hajiya Halima Lawal said government alone can not afford quality education to the children, stressing the need for parents and philanthropists’s support in achieving it’s goals.
He said government had already implemented policy of free basic education to children from primary to junior secondary school in the state.
In a speech, the Emir of Zazzau, Mal. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli thanked the Proprietor of the School, Mal. Bashir Abubakar who built the school to support the educational in the society.
He charged parents to give maximum support and cooperation by prompt payment of their children’s school fees, and visit the school consistently to encourage learning.
Also speaking, the guest speaker, Chief Imam of Al-Mannar Jummat Mosque Kaduna, Mal.Muh’d Tukur stressed the importance of teaching vocational and entrepreneurship skills to enable the young ones become self reliance and useful in the society.
The chairman Board of Trustees of the School who is also the Founder of the School, Former Asst. Controller of Custom, Alh. Bashir Abubakar Said the school was built as an endowment to immortalize his late parents and grandparents.
He urged the graduants to be good ambassador of the School by exemplifying good conduct in both learning and character wherever they find themselves.
Earlier, the principal of the School, Mal. Datti Yahya said the school was a combination of both western and Islamic education where students were trained on high academic excellence that would make them compete in the contemporary and modern society with civilization.
He added that the school had achieved a remarkable performance in it’s first WAEC this year with 100% students scoring 5 credits and above including Mathematics and English language and 80% in Neco.
Radio Nigeria reports that Fifty three students graduated, 33 from science class and 20 from Arts
.
Highlight of the occasion include students participation in different activities and presentation of gifts to deserving students, teachers and some dignitaries among others.
