Zamfara State government says, it is set to host the 2022 National Annual Qur’anic Recitation Competition scheduled to take place next month.

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle announced this at the opening ceremony of the 26th State Annual Quranic Recitation Competition held at UBE Teacher’s Training Center, Bye-Pass Gusau.

Represented by the State Deputy Governor ,Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, said state government would continue to support Quranic recitation and memorization for people to have proper way of reciting the Holy Book and follow its teachings.

He urged the participants to compete peacefully and redouble their efforts in representing the state and the country at the international levels.

According to him, state government will continue to support the Musabaqa standing committee with funds and other logistics in order to achieve their goals.

Earlier , The Emir of Anka Alhaji Muhammad Attahiru Ahamad who is also the Chairman, Zamfara State Council of Chiefs emphasized the need for Muslims to intensify efforts towards reading, memorizing of the Holy Quran and the learn from it.

He also attributed the recent security challenges bedevilling the state and the country in general to lack of obedience to Allah SWT and the lesson from the Holy Quran and the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him.

The Monarch also called on parents to inculcate moral values in their children so as to become useful members in the society and to benefit here and hereafter .

In his remark, the Special Adviser to the governor on Islamic Associations and Welfare of Almajiri’s Board, Dr Atiku Balarabe Zawiyya says, state government had donated a lot to Islamic schools across the state.

He further explained that state government was currently feeding one hundred and twenty three schools preventing them from street begging and hawking .

Highlights of the event was the recitation of the Holy Quran by 2021 National winner of the Quranic recitation competition Hafiz Ibrahim Nasiru Aula.

Those in attendance were participants drawn from 14 local government areas of the state , Traditional rulers, Parmanent Secretary, Ministry for Women Affairs Dr. Barira Ibrahim Bagobiri, Commissioner of information Ibrahim Magaji Dosara, Commissioner of Forestry and livestock Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi Spirow.
