Niger state government says it has allocated three billion naira in twenty twenty three budget for the recruitment of civil servants next year to augment the existing workforce.

Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Malam Zakari Abubakar stated this while addressing Newsmen in Minna on the twenty twenty three budget breakdown.

Malam Zakari Abubakar said this is part of efforts by the Niger state government at creating jobs and reduce idleness.

He however explained that the total estimated revenue of the budget would be derived from five sources namely statutory allocation, value added tax, internally generated revenue and capital receipt among others.

According to him, Niger state government has earmarked twenty eight billion for the ongoing Minna Bida road project while many other road projects will be considered to provide an unhindered access for free movement of goods and services.

The Commissioner revealed that the highest allocation goes to the infrastructure sub sector with over fifty three point four billion naira for the completion of state roads, about one billion  naira for the renovation of public buildings and over seven billion naira for the water sub sector.

Malam Zakari Abubakar said that fifteen point eight billion goes to the health sector with six point four billion naira for the renovation of eight general hospitals, five point five billion naira for the Primary Health Care and its activities while N200 million will go to the provision of equipments at IBB Specialist Hospital Minna among others.

Niger state Governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello had presented two hundred and thirty eight billion naira budget proposal for the twenty twenty three for approval by Niger State House of Assembly.
