The National Christian Pilgrims Commission has directed the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board to commence preparations for this year’s pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan. 

Executive Secretary Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai announced this while speaking to Radio Nigeria in Minna the Niger state capital.

Alh Umar Makun Lapai  explained that Niger state Governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has approved one million seven hundred and sixty five thousand naira as Christian pilgrims fare for this year’s exercise.

He said they have received approval for the commencement of collection of fares from interested intending Christian pilgrims and that modalities are being worked out to ensure its success. 

Alh Umar Makun Lapai however said they will embark on sensitisation tour to educate the public so that whosoever is interested should contact the state pilgrims board for further clarification. 

He said all payments must be done through certified bank draft as the cashless policy being practice by the board remain sacrosanct. 

The Executive Secretary Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board added that the Christian department will soon roll out its activities for necessary action.
