Zaria Metropolitan Authority has reiterated its determination to keep Zaria and its environs clean.
Special Assistant to the Metropolitan Authority Administrator Alhaji Abdullahi Lawal Lere stated this in a telephone interview with radio Nigeria in Zaria.
Alhaji Abdullahi Lawal Lere explained that about six firms have entered into an agreement with the authority to evacuate refuse and sweep the designated streets within Zaria and its environs.
He added that the firms would execute the jobs for three months in the first phase.
The Special Assistant pointed out that about three hundred people were expected to be engaged in the program to keep Zaria clean.
He called on households and traders to imbibe the culture of dumping refuse at designated sites.
Alhaji Abdullahi Lawal Lere charged the sweep vendors to ensure that the set objective of the keep Zaria and its environs clean was achieved.
