NGSG Urged to Pay Attention to Owned Media Outfits


Niger state government has been advised to as a matter of urgency pay more attention to the state owned media outfits to enable them compete favourably with other national dailies in publicising government policies and programmes.


Chairman Niger state Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Comrade Abu Nmodu gave the advice in a statement in Minna over the elevation of the immediate past NUJ Chairman Comrade Mohammed Mohammed as Acting Managing Director Niger Printing and Publicising Company Publishers of Newsline and Tauraruwa Newspapers.


The statement which was signed by Secretary of the Council Comrade Usman Chiji said such attention should be in the areas of manpower training and retraining as well as provision of operational facilities among others to enable them discharge their duties deligently.
Comrade Abu Nmodu further congratulated Comrade Mohammed Mohammed on his elevation which he said it is more of putting a round peg in a round hole being a principal officer at Newsline Newspapers with vast experience for maximum benefits.


He however expressed the rediness of the Niger state Council of NUJ to continue to support and cooperate with the new Managing Director to succeed in his assignment.


Comrade Abu Nmodu appealed to staff of the organisation to support the new Managing Director Comrade Mohammed Mohammed in his renewed vigour to move the organisation to greater height.
