Zamfara State : Police Parades 8 For Suspected Banditry Activities

Zamfara State Police Command has paraded eight suspects in connection with banditry activities in the state.

The State Commissioner of police CP Yusuf Kolo , announced this while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Gusau .

Represented by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Muhammad Shehu , the Commissioner said the suspects have been conniving with the bandits by supplying them food items, hard drugs, alcoholic drinks, army uniforms, live ammunition and AK 47 riffles.

According to him, a woman from Barrikallahu in Gusau local government area suspected to be an informant was also arrested and explained that her two younger brothers were bandits, adding that she does not have any business with them as they engaged in the act.

Similarly, one Alhaji Ali of Tudun Wada area in the ancient city of Gusau was also arrested for supplying food items and medical assistant to the bandits and their families, as well as new motorcycles and other logistical support .

CP Kolo further explain that, 250 AK 47 live ammunitions were also intercepted from one suspect on his way to the forest for onward distribution to bandits in the forest.

Similarly, a truck was also seized with the driver carrying different cartons of alcoholic drinks and hard drugs worth millions of naira as well as eight cows.

According to him, investigation was ongoing and the suspects would soon be charge to court for prosecution.
