Nigerian Army has re-iterated its resolve to continue to build the capacity of soldiers through realistic training to cope with the ever-evolving nature and character of warfare.

Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry-NASI, Major General Maude Gadzama Ali made the pledge at the ground breaking ceremony of an extension of surveillance department of the school held in Jaji, Kaduna State.

Major General Maude Gadzama Ali explained that when completed, the edifice would assist students to visualize and understand the usage of the radar, and to perfect their skills before being introduced to the field in line with global best practice.

He maintained that the edifice would also accommodate large turn up of personnel desirous of studying surveillance course, as well as help in building their capacity for future deployment of equipment in the field.

The Commandant assured that at the end of the construction and commencement of training in the facility, students would be able to to employ surveillance equipment with ease in all phases of war as well as counter-insurgency operations.

Major General Maude Ali commended the German Training Advisory Group(G-TAG) as well as the German Government for donating the edifice to the school and assured that it would be used judiciously.

Earlier, project manager reconaissance for G-TAG, Master Warrant Officer Schneider Biel explained that the project, which was borne out of partnership with NASI, would have the capacity to train more personnel and execute more courses in Jaji.

Radio Nigeria reports that the edifice, situated at support weapon wing of NASI, is expected to be completed within five months, and would comprise of classes, surveillance laboratory, technical stores and a surveillance tower.
