Nentawe Yilwada has emerged as the governorship flag bearer of the APC in Plateau state after pulling 803 votes out of the 927 accredited voters.

This was announced by the Chairman of the electoral committee Abu Ajiya at the Langfield leisure park in Jos.


Nentawe scored a total vote of 803 against his closest contender David Victor Dimka who scored seven votes.

In his acceptance speech, Yilwada commended the efforts and courage of those who withdrew from the contest asking them to put their heads together in taking the state higher.


He also assured that he will be committed to the mandate bestowed on him if he pulls through at the general election to tackle insecurity in the state.

Earlier,five out of the aspirants had stepped down from the contest namely, Sunday Garba Biggs, Hezekiah Dimka, Bilshaka Fitka, Danyaro Sarpiya and Dr. Patrick Dakum.

Meanwhile other aspirants, the deputy governor Sonni Tyoden, and David Dimka walked out saying they were not satisfied with the process of the election while Garba Pwol did not show up at the venue at all.
