NCC Seeks Public Support Against Vandalism Of Infrastructure

The Nigerian Communications Commission NCC has charged the general populace to be extra vigilant in ensuring that telecom infrastructure are well protected, to enhance effective service delivery in the telecommunication industry.

Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, Professor Garba Umar Danbatta disclosed this during a village square dialogue on telecom consumer conversation held at Danbatta local government area of Kano state.

Professor Garba Umar Danbatta represented by the Director Technical Standards and Network Integrity Department, Mallam Bako Wakil said the Nigerian Communication Commission was working tirelessly in ensuring that quality services were being provided to consumers of telecom services across the country.

He said the protection of telecom infrastructure was a responsibility of all Nigerians, hence the public should not hesitate in reporting any suspicious act of vandalism .

The Director maintained that without efficient telecom infrastructure, the needed telecom service would not be provided to consumers hence Nigerians should collaborate with the Commission in ensuring the protection of telecom infrastructure.

“Protection of Telecom infrastructure is a collective responsibility, by protecting infrastructure it means we are protecting every service offered on the network, let us work together to protect our network”

In his remark the District Head of Danbatta ,Sarkin Ban Bichi, Alhaji Isyaku Wada Waziri applauded the efforts of NCC for organizing the sensitization program.

He assured the commission that the people of his community would support the commission in the protection of telecom infrastructure in Danbatta local government area.

During the sensitization, consumers were equipped with techniques for reporting issues that needed prompt intervention from the Commission among other issues.
