A total of five hundred and fifty nine thousand nine hundred and three pupils in two thousand six hundred and thirty six public primary schools in Niger state are currently benefiting from the Home Grown School Feeding Programme of the Federal Government.

Focal Person and Special Adviser to Niger state Governor on National Social Investment Program Barrister Amina Musa Guar announced this at the flag off of distribution of eating utencils to education secretaries across the twenty five local government councils held in Minna.

Barr Aminu Musa Guar explained that the Home Grown School Feeding programme in Niger state has drastically increase the number of children enrolment create jobs and helped local farmers boost their agricultural production.

She however lamented that prior to the introduction of Home Grown School Feeding Programme of Federal Government percentage of children attending schools in public schools in Niger state were very low.

Barrister Amina Musa Guar also commended Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state for approving the purchace of about six thousand coolers for cooks to discourage them from bringing food on rubber buckets sọ that primary school pupils were served in a descent and hygenic manner.

Chairman Niger State Universal Basic Education Board Dr Isa Adamu applauded both the Federal and Niger state Governments for sustaining this programme which he said had impacted positively to the lives of the primary school pupils and by extention increase in enrolment figure.

The symbolic distribution of plates and spoons to three local government councils of Chanchaga Wushishi and Gbako was performed by the SUBEB Chairman Dr Isa Adamu.
