Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Taraba State, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi has sworn in and inaugurated four local government chairmen of the party in the state.

The ceremony took place at the APC states’ party Secretariat in Jalingo.

Those that were sworn in are Yusuf Yusuf for Ibi, Sirajo Sallau, Takum, and James Rimamsuwe Ussa, while Wukari has Ibrahim Danji respectively.

He said there was no controversy for Donga local government, therefore, Salihu Bako remained the APC Chairman in the area.

El-Sudi who supervised the oath-taking and inauguration of the officials noted that it was following the directives given to him by the national secretariat of the party.

He said following the inauguration of the new officials, those who were previously elected and sworn in and replaced could no longer parade themselves as party officials.

“In a bid to correct the anomaly that ensued at our national convention, I wrote to the national secretariat to seek the authentic list of delegates from the National secretariat.

The national secretariat gave me a list of new people from these four local government areas and I am obliged to work with them and I can not work with them without swearing them in, so I will have to swear them in as demanded by our constitution,” he emphasized.

On the position of those that were sworn in before, El-Sudi said “whoever is not comfortable with this should please lias with the national secretariat for clarification. I am only following the order given to me”.

It was gathered that the decision to replace the affected local government party chairmen by the national body of the party in the state was followed by petitions written against them.

Our Correspondent reports that Barrister Isa Buba administered the oath of office and that of allegiance to the new local government party officials.

Meanwhile, the DSK Campaign Organisation during a press conference on Sunday in Jalingo described the action taken by Barrister Ibrahim El-Sudi as unilateral and unacceptable.

Led by its Chairman, Hon. Abba Akawuzaga the organization opposed the decision and described those that were sworn in by El-Sudi as appointees because they were not elected by the congress, and called on the National Chairman of the party, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu led Exco to call El-Sudi to order.
