Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, has voluntarily withdrawn his ambition to contest for the 2023 gubernatorial election in Kebbi State.

The Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations to the Office of the AGF, Dr. Umar Gwandu made this known in a statement

The statement explained that Mr. Malami will not resign and urges members of the society to accord some respect to the AGF’s right to freedom of choice in such matters.

It says AGF’s decision did not violate any law and his act is a demonstration of altruism and patriotism.

The statement added that Mr. Malami’s act was commendable and worthy of admiration.
