Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has imposed a 24 hour curfew in the state.

The curfew was declared following an earlier protest embarked this morning by mostly youth who are calling for the release of the arrested people alleged to have participate in the recent killing of a female student in Shehu shagari college of education.

Earlier this morning security personnel managed to dispersed the growing demonstration by the youths in the state.

At present, the situation is calm while police are moving around to ensure members of the public adhere to the curfew order.
