Six Soldiers, One Policeman Killed In Taraba

The Nigeria Police Force, Taraba State Command has confirmed the killing of six military personnel and a mobile police officer as a result of a clash between two tribes at one of the villages in the Takum local government area of the state.

Spokesperson of the Taraba State Police Command, DSP, Abdullahi Usman confirmed this to in Jalingo, the state capital.

His words “it was a clashed on Tuesday between Fulani and Kuteb Militias in Tarti Village, Takum Local Government Area in Taraba state where several houses were set ablaze that led to the operations”.

According to him, the Commander leading the Operations in the Terti area, Lieutenant Colonel Emenike was also nowhere to be found.

” The lieutenant colonel was declared missing,” Usman revealed.

While fielding questions from journalists on whether the Command has received more casualties as a result of the incident, the spokesperson of the Command said they are not yet to be ascertained until peace has been restored in the area.

DSP Abdullahi Usman, however, informed that the po command had sent more personnel to curtail the ugly situation in the area.

Meanwhile, the PPRO has further confirmed the bomb blast that was thrown into Nigeria Army 6 Brigade Jalingo on Tuesday night that resulted in the crack of the building, noting that no casualty was recorded.

DSP Usman Abdullahi, therefore, called on the general public to share any information of uncertainty in their areas with the security agencies and assured them of utmost confidentiality.

Meanwhile, our correspondent who went round some parts of the state capital observed that residents are in panic and worried about the ugly incident.
