Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State says, it has received full accreditation of thirteen academic programmes from the National Universities Commission NUC.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Information Officer of the University Malam Umar Usman and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital

According to the letter, all the thirteen re-accredited programmes in the three (3) Faculties of Science, Humanities, and Education got full accreditation.

The accredidated programmes were Biochemistry, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Plant Science Biotechnology, others are Physics, Zoology, English, Hausa, History International Studies, Islamic Studies and Education Economics.

According to him, the approval was contained in a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor and signed by the Director of Accreditation of the Commission, Dr. Maryam Sali on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary.

Commenting on the development, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Mu’azu Abubakar Gusau, expressed delight over the results of the accreditation and thanked the Council, University Management and entire staff for their efforts towards securing full accreditation for the whole re-accredited programmes.

He also appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders who contributed in one way or another to the success of the institution in that regard.

It would be recalled that the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mu’azu Abubakar Gusau, assumed duty as the third substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University in February, 2021 and channeled most of his energy towards the accreditation exercise of the university’s programmes.
