Zamfara State Police Command has arrested two Suspects, Mubarak Aliyu and Sani Ahmed from Wanzamai Village in Tsafe local government area for stealing and vandalizing NEPA Cables.

The Command Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau the state capital.

He said the arrest followed a distress call received from the Area Manager, Power Holding Company of Nigera, popularly known as NEPA, Tsafe branch, regarding the vandalisation of Transformer and other electrical installations in Wanzamai Village.

According to him, a large quantity of Aluminium conductor wire valued at about Eight Hundred Thousand Naira (N800, 000) were removed by some unpatriotic elements.

The statement also indicated that, the DPO Tsafe acted on intelligence information and arrested the suspects in possession of melted Aluminium conductor wire, and the suspects confessed to the offence and further mentioned their partners in crime now at large.

The Command under the leadership of CP Ayuba Elkanah is applying various strategies to arrest the fleeing suspects and charge them to court for Prosecution.
