2023 Polls : INEC Tasks Media On Objective Reportage

Media practitioners have been urged to shun sensationalism and report objectively ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , Resident Electoral Commisssioner in Kwara state ,Mallam Garba Attahiru Madami made the call while speaking at a round table meeting with heads of media outfits in Ilorin.

He said the media should avoid working on assumptions in reporting events to the general public.

Mallam Attahiru Madami advised them to ensure objective reportage to make things right.

He urged media practitioners to take advantage of available source of information provided by the Commission to make their job easier.

The Residents Electoral Commisssioner appealed to political parties to ensure the entrenchment of internal democracy to sanitise the nation’s democratic system.

Mallam Attahiru Madami maintained that the commission is committed towards ensuring free , fair and credible elections at all times.
